History Man with Year 7:

Early on Monday the History Man arrived complete with a massive range of artifacts on the Romans. In a nut shell, he journeyed the pupils through a variety of facts and activities to launch our new topic. His enthusiasm for the subject enthused pupils into participating and questioning to find out more. This culminated in a fun packed finale, where the pupils could engage, use and play with the sources. He also engaged a group of our pupils, when interviewed, with his life story of how he came to be working in his current job and the skills and enthusiasm required to be successful. Very interesting!

We will remember them. 100 years on from 11.11.1918

On Friday 9th November, the whole school took part in a day to commemorate the centenary of the end of World War 1 and the Armistice.  Many activities took place such as drama workshops, art, discussions and assemblies in which the pupils were able to explore what happened and why, and empathise with those who were there. It was amazing to hear the pupils’ viewpoints of the event and fascinating to hear about some of their families’ own experiences and memories.
